Member David Kellogg Goes Italian
When the service is good and account access is easy and free, it’s possible to maintain your Valley CU account no matter where you live. Just ask David Kellogg, who has been a member for over two decades – and from across the globe.
“I still maintain financial interests in the US…so I have kept my VCU accounts because they are simple and essentially free to maintain,” says David.
He became a member of Valley CU by default when the credit union merged with Nationwide Credit Union, which he had joined while working at Cetus Corporation in the 1980s. David has now lived in Rome, Italy for 10 years.
“Through all of our life and career changes, we have kept our connection to our beloved California including our helpful friends at Valley Credit Union,” says David.
His most recent career change has been retirement! Living just outside Vatican City, David and his wife enjoy helping with their daughter’s bed and breakfast.
In spite of the nearest Valley CU branch being thousands of miles away, David manages his finances easily via the web, through online banking and bill pay, and by phone, through the call center.
“I am able to also use direct deposit so I don't have to deal with checks getting lost in the Italian mail,” a common occurrence, he says.
David enjoys the Italian lifestyle and has no plans to return to the U.S. Nor does he have any plans of ending his relationship with Valley Credit Union.
Are you planning to move? Maintain your relationship with Valley CU online, by phone or at one of the thousands of shared branches or CO-OP ATMs worldwide. Visit valleycu.org to find out more.
